At Velvet Sugar Studios, I hear it all the time, excuses, hesitations, and downright silly reasons why you lovely people think you can’t (or shouldn’t) book a boudoir session. And I get it! Taking the plunge into an empowerment boudoir photoshoot can feel a little intimidating. But here’s the thing: those reasons? They’re not real. In fact, they’re pure nonsense. So, let’s bust those myths right now, shall we?

“I am not at my perfect weight”

Oh, hunnie. Your body is stunning right now. Not five pounds from now. Not ten pounds from now. And definitely not after some random diet you don’t even want to be on. Boudoir is about celebrating YOU, every line and curve, every angle, every glorious inch of your fabulous self. Trust me, the camera loves you just as you are and you are worthy of this space. 

“I’m not photogenic.”

Oh really? Let me introduce you to my camera, some posing ideas and good lighting. Because here’s the secret, literally everyone who walks into my studio thinks they aren’t photogenic… until they see their photos. After years of marketing that is purely aimed at diminishing women's self worth and self image, I promise you, you are more stunning than you know. 

“I don’t have anyone to give the photos to.”

Who says you need to give them to anyone? The best reason to book an empowerment boudoir shoot is for yourself. To celebrate your strength, your beauty, your confidence. To capture this moment in time where you decided, “Yeah, I am that gorgeous.” Plus, future you will love looking back and seeing how amazing you were in this moment. 

“I’m too old for this.”
